Home III

My new phone has a much sharper camera. Here are some snaps of my place.

What an extraordinary way in which you stack your books on your shelves :). My shelves are equally crowded (although you can read the titles), and continue to become more and more crowded as time goes by.

I also notice a shared love for the image of The Tower of Babel from "Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry", which I too have had hanging on my wall at my various abodes for over a decade now.

It all looks charming, thanks for sharing this glimpse into your world :).

Hi Mark - hope the move went well - I left Cambridge recently too though to go to London rather than Oxford - your place looks great...

Glad you like, Kit! You can see the titles if you stand by them, which you have to to get a book out....:)

Chris, glad you like it too---what's the new job?

Yes indeed, like it very much. Although you have deprived me of one of my little "quirks", which is to look at people's bookshelves and see what sort of books they have/read. Something I used to do (and still do) from time to, in various Sunday supplements, etc. I always find it interesting to see what people read, especially people I find interesting and/or inspiring. It's always disappointing when there are none to be seen.

Your system wouldn't work with my books, my friends will vouch for my collection being rather plentiful and diverse. Though there is an attempt at being thematic, chronological, orderly, structured, it doesn't always work when something new invariably arrives. Frequently.

Once again, what a cosy and delightful home :)

Hi Mark - same job at Senate House Library but no longer commuting from Cambridge...how's the shift back to 'the other place' going for you?

Hi Mark just thought I'd say hello and see how things are going - real shame we never got to meet in Cambridge - anyway hope you're well....
